The reigning champions failed to make their home advantage count, with the visitors grabbing all three points in their battle to avoid relegation. With just four matches left in the campaign, Caps United’s victory was crucial in their survival fight.

Ishmael Wadi netted the game’s only goal, securing the win for the Green Machine and lifting them into the top half of the log.

Despite suffering their first home defeat of the season, Simba Bhora coach Joel Luphahla insists his side is still in the title race.

“It was a disappointing result. We really thought we would get a victory playing at home. We still have five matches left, and I believe we are still in the race. It’s amazing how far we’ve come considering no one gave us a chance after losing many players at the start of the season,” Luphahla said.

Caps United coach Ian Bakala was full of praise for his players, highlighting their resilience in securing a vital away win.

“It wasn’t an easy game, but the team really played well to come here and get all three points. The support from our president has played a vital role in our performance as we continue chasing positive results,” Bakala said.

The defeat leaves Simba Bhora in second place, four points behind log leaders Scotland, although they still have a game in hand. Caps United, meanwhile, climbed to ninth place but remain in the relegation zone.
