Reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Simba Bhora maintained their place at the summit of the table despite being held to a goalless draw by second-placed Scotland FC in a tightly contested match at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva on Saturday afternoon.
With only six games left in the 2025 season, Simba Bhora remain two points clear of their closest rivals as they push to defend the title.
The best chance of the match fell to the visitors when danger man Tymon Machope’s effort bounced off the crossbar and was cleared off the line. Simba Bhora also created their fair share of opportunities but failed to convert.
Simba Bhora head coach, Joel Luphahla, expressed frustration over missed chances, but remained upbeat about his team’s overall performance and title prospects.

“We had opportunities in the second half to wrap up the game, but we couldn’t take our chances. That said, I’m very proud of my boys,” said Luphahla. “We’re still two points ahead, so it’s in our hands. I’m confident we’ll pull through.”
Scotland FC coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, who led Simba Bhora to their maiden league title last season before joining newly promoted Scotland, was satisfied with a point on the road.
“For us to come here and get a point, I must applaud the boys for the work they put in. This was a very tough game,” said Ndiraya. “Two sides doing well in the league met today. We take this valuable point back home and focus on our next match.”
Simba Bhora will now shift their attention to continental duties as they prepare for their CAF Champions League Preliminary Round First Leg encounter against Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini, set for next Sunday in Francistown, Botswana.
